I just heard on the news that Muslim gunmen attacked a church in Pakistan and killed 16 Christians during the Sunday service. All was done in the name of Islam and Quran

You noticed it because the attack was on Christians.. Have you noticed that one sect of Muslims attacking other sects of Muslims in the Mosques.. That has happened a few times as well in Pakistan and papers report it as sectarian violence.. Same thinking at work here as Catholics and Protestants messing it up in Ireland.. IMHO, these are people who have lost all sense of any moral and spiritual equilibrium and perverted the religion, be it Islam or Christianity..

It seems to me all religions have a small % of people who will interpret it to exploit their distorted values and they seem to find followers who will drink the the kool aid, so to speak.. In this case, Islam, over a billion followers but the trouble spots have really been confined around middle east and Afghanistan. Uneducated and poor seem more easily malleable specially once you throw in the politics and corruption but not all of them are illiterate so no way to guess their psyche..

Of course, sooner or later the people who are promoting the hate and violence based on perverting the religion will all face the same God that is supposed to have given them the license to do this. I have no doubt in my mind what awaits them but unfortunately that does not really help in this world.

ADDI:

These actions are essentially POLITICAL.

Political groups, with various ends in mind, have to draw on some motivating factor from the masses. What does that particular group have in common--its religion.

Next step is to demonize the enemy, who can be seen as thwarting the group's right to power, authority, freedom, whatever. Part of the demonization process is to identify the enemy as idolators and heathens.

Then you build up HATE for the enemy, and justify the actions you want to take in the name of RIGHTEOUSNESS because of the idolatry of the enemy.

Then when you attack and destroy you claim the victory for
your brand of God.

NONE of this has ANYTHING to do with ANY genuine religion.

However, this general approach has been used by political groups of all persuasions--Christians, Jews, Muslims
(you name it). It is a sad and terrible history.

It is time for sincere people of goodwill to end this vicious game--no matter who does it.

Namaste!

Jim

Addi,

You asked, "Can you or someone explain to me what do these evil murderers saw in Quran and Islam that made them do such horrific evil deeds? Or are they simply thugs and murderers that are using Islam as an excuse for their evil actions? And if so Why Islam?"

The reason is easy. Their main prophet of the religion was violent and murdered many, many people. He was abusive to people! So if the role model of the religion is violent and abusive, I think we can figure why some of the people that follow him, and his beliefs, are as well!

God Bless,
IGIT
