Hey Mani - Thanks for the VOTE !!!

Whenever AMD tanks, you AMD folks are as predictable as the rising sun !!!!

What a bunch of Stand Up guys you are !

Here's some background Info - Gordon Moore is donating $600 Million of his OWN money to his Alma Mater - while Sanders is donating $2.5 Million of YOUR MONEY - AMD shareholders - to HIS alma mater.

Maybe you AMDroids can all write Gordon a nice letter and ask him to donate $2.5 Million to Jerry's alma mater - in Jerry's name - to save you AMD shareholders from the expense - considering AMD is BLEEDING MONEY currently !

PASADENA, Calif.--Gordon Moore, co-founder of computer chipmaker Intel, is donating $600 million to the California Institute of Technology, the largest gift ever made to a single American school.

Caltech will receive $300 million from Moore and his wife, Betty, and another $300 million from the foundation that bears their names.

The Moores announced the gifts at the Caltech Board of Trustees meeting this weekend.

Moore, 72, was chief executive officer at Intel from 1975 to 1987 and was chairman until 1997. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from Caltech in 1954.

"This will allow us to realize research dreams, to maintain our greatness in the main areas in which we are preeminent and to provide a special Caltech education for generations of students to come," said Caltech President and Nobel laureate David Baltimore.

The foundation's grant of $300 million will be dispensed over a 10-year period, while the Moores' $300 million gift will be meted out over five years. The funds are for educational and scientific programs to be mutually agreed upon.

i think it is just stupid to suspend paul. why bother ? what purpose is it going to serve other than to give him the right to claim that "we can't handle the truth" ? if people claim that he is somehow disturbing the thread, they can put him on ignore, not read his messages and not post to him. let him just blab away 100 times about amd's losses. that's his problem and you can make fun of his childish behaviour when necessary. just don't give him any more reason to post more stuff.

RE: Paul suspension

Unfair to Paul and to any serious AMD investor, especially when he is being baited 24/7 by various posters whose efforts waste bandwith and our time.

Mani,

re: Only accept votes from contributors to this thread. I define contribution as at least 1 post over the past 30 days (prior to this post) or 1 post out of the last 50 posted by the individual. Either one. I will make exception for long time contributors who no longer post here. I know who they are.

Interesting that only contributors to the thread are counted. I suppose the reasoning is that those that simply read the thread are somehow second class citizens, not entitled to a democratic voice?

It seems to me that every reader should have a vote. There are a few folks here whose posts don't contribute anything, yet their votes count.

Why not let the readers have a say in how the thread material is censored, I mean, moderated?

John

Mani,

Is there any specific post for which you are asking for votes to ban Paul ?

Or is it this general, "Oh AMD stock is down, the economy sucks, I may lose my job, The world political situation is a mess and let me take my frustration out on Someone. I need some good news and optimism in my life. And Paul is always pessimistic (nevermind the huge loss AMD posted and may post again) and I have had enough of him. Lets get rid of him (of course, when times were good, we enjoyed taunting him)" ?

Please do not change the rules of the game now. Everybody with SI membership was allowed to vote so far. So why is it different this time ? Beside, please tell us which specific post we are voting against/for ?

Thanks.
Maui.

No BAN.

Most people on this thread cannot handle dissent at all, but still indulge in behavior worse than which Paul is accused of. What about WinSmith's recent insulting posts saying that "sh*t would be insulted if Paul was compared to sh*t". Niceguy can clog up the thread with optimistic posts with never a complaint about mindless cheerleading.

"Only accept votes from contributors to this thread. I define contribution as at least 1 post over the past 30 days (prior to this post) or 1 post out of the last 50 posted by the individual. It seems that this is just a way to officially make it a closed club. So the thread is going to be the

OFFICIAL AMD CHHERLEADER CLUB.

I only lurk as I disagree with premise of 'moderation' but shouldn't I be allowed a vote?
