This does all Dave needs and I believe was available prior to the iMac. pictureitproducts.msn.com

Now that XP understands cameras and such, it does become even easier.

That's not to say that Apple's message wrt to the digital lifestyle has not be right on.
While Digital picture/Audio/Video is something you can do on Windows, Apple has gotten the word out better.
To some extent, Microsoft has been handicapped, by its reliance on nonproprietary Hardware.

I believe this changes with XP.

Dave,

<< because all of the advantages of XP that you noted have been available on Macintosh for years now. >>

I applaud Mac for being ahead of the curve. This is a good example of the type of software that should be seemlessly integrated with the OS. It's a shame that the "consumer protection" groups are targeting MSFT for this very thing. They're not protecting the consumer, IMO.

<< Your description of how poor the work flow for image editing has been on Windows made me sad. How could you have been subjecting yourselves to that pain, when buying a cheap iMac would have made it so much easier for you? >>

Because I'm loyal to MSFT and happen to like their products.
