Hello Robert. Do you think it is right for governments to use the " Free Press " as a weapon during times of war??

Because it is in much public demand, and they are doing a good job.

I disagree. The press the so called news is all about ratings. Its become totally editoral and gossip. More like a soap opera than news.

When was the last time the press reported on a bill that was in congress?
Told the people what was in the entire bill? They NEVER do that. What you get is a 5 second sound bite. The details of the bill are never known. Then the spin doctors come in and do their spin.

The press should be required to report the entire thing. If that was done the spin doctors would be exposed so that will never happen.

The press has failed miserably in their fuction of informing the people. They have their own aganda that has nothing to do with informing the people.

You get a 5 second sound bite of PART of the fact and then hours of opinion.

Bob, the quality of news is absolutely dismal. The media just report the same crap. No investigation, no real details that they grow themselves, just garbage.

You mean the media can't read the Arab press and report what's being said!

You mean that they can't interview people fleeing the scene to get more of a picture of what's happening on the ground!

You mean they can't figure out how they are being minipulated!

What we have is a whole lot of 'hi tech' being used to deliver nothing. If the DOD was doing as poorly as the media we really would have no hope.

I am amazed at what the major English outlets call news or newsworthy. I am more amazed at how lazy jounalism job holders have become. There are very few jounalists in the media today. For sure, I don't see any Edward R. Morrow's or Walter Cronkite's. Pretty faces, zero IQ. Can't even ask decent questions when they have someone newsworthy on.
