Yes, maybe, but you have to be wary of the plunge protection team. They had their hands in some of the b/s of last week, you can bet on it. I smelled it, mentioned it a few times, I don't remember if it was here or my rat thread.
It was that walking of a cliff scenario I was getting a whiff of. There was just no reason for the run we had last week. I keep hearing all the talking morons harping on the $2 trillion sitting in money markets, just waiting to come into the markets.
Sure, I bet..But it gave great entry to short on Friday, when puts were cheap as hell.

Maybe the FED will start paying borrowers to borrow?
Uncle Alan & the rest of the circus side show act must be feeling a little sick by now??
At some point, the big boys overseas are going to start nailing the dollar, just watch..Then we will start feeling some real pain here in the US..

I trade QQQ options everyday, it is the best tool I have found to extract profits out of the markets.
As an example, I opened some QQQ $35 puts Friday for 1.20
Last trade today was 2.15 a gain of 80%....
(I sold most, but not all of that position today)
I don't know what to expect Tuesday, no way for me to tell, but the indexes pretty much closed on the lows, so that may be a non-started for a rally, then again who knows?
I am just playing it loose, watching, holding some of my index puts.

Rat HAUP had a good day, we talked about it last week..
I had already sold what I had, so I missed todays run :-(
Many of the rat stocks have also been reliable gainers of late. It is amazing when you can make it both ways....

NATGAS futures have also had a huge, just a gigantic run the past 2-3 weeks, when the talking heads said natgas was going to 1.75...Sure. The experts get it dead wrong, again....http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=16543764
I trade futures a few times a week, but you have to really know what you are doing when you enter into contracted futures. It teaches pucker-power. But I wait for my prey, so I usually get in smart.

William:

Good going on those QQQ shorts...

We got a bounce from the 1650 area on the Nasdaq as expected...

The first negative GDP numbers in years buoys the market because it wasn't as bad as expected... Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of a series of negative GDP numbers... After the relief rally, which could test the 1800 area, we could backpeddle to the 1600 area...
