While all would probably prefer a specific alert there is some value in asking all to pay extra attention to anything unusual. One could not just notify law enforcement people as the inevitable leaks to the general public would case a worse situation than the type of vague announcement made.

Also, even if specific information exist should it always be released to everyone? If this is done than those planning to strike can modify their plans and only strike when the public has not been alerted.

So as inane as a general vague alert sounds, IMO it serves a purpose.

McCain wasn't asked the right question. If any source is deemed potentially credible it is their duty to issue a warning... They are receiving threats from wackos every day - are they holding a press conference for every one?

This is simply a common sense question to those who understand responsibility and duty... Unfortunately, that is a foreign concept to you left wingers.

PS: Interestingly ironic (and sad) that you attempt to insult by classing McCain with Fonda...

A group of POWs at the Hanoy Hilton was actually outed by Fonda to the NVA when, at a propaganda event featuring Jane interviewing the American "war criminals", they attempted to pass her notes detailing torture and cruelty at the hands of their captors... Fonda turned the notes over to the ranking NVA officer while the POW's watched in shocked silence. As a result of the subsequent beatings - 1 of the POW's died.

Of course - to you - this was simply Fonda exercising her constitutional rights.

When are you going to start calling the US pilots over Afghanistan war criminals Richie?

TP will probably arrive there first - but I'll bet you're right behind him...
