Cat: Like everything else these days, it is a confusing picture and hard to draw conclusions -- but it sure looks like we are entering a downward spiral which is not obviously going to be eased in the immediate future by lower rates -- this terrorist overhang and the global recession combined with a jump in unemployment are not going to be easily reversed -- it may have been a rally fueled by "wishful thinking" about "looking across the valley" and all of that. But you have to be impressed by interest rates being so low -- and soon to go even lower.

Many of the newer domestic gas wells are marginal producers and others are being depleted.
