Haq probably never expected to get double crossed. At worst, I thought he may return to Pakistan with red face. The actual outcome is an indication of the dire desperate predicament the Talebans are in. What happened to such a national legendary hero is utmost despicable deed, specially for that society. By that act, Talebans have performed treason to Islamic principles. I have no doubt that 95% of Afghan and Pakistan Moslems feel the same way. I believe this was a bad mistake by the Talebans. It may buy Talebans a little more present time, but psychologically it has eroded their support within Afghanistan and it will bring forth larger number of defections later on. Furthermore, such deed by itself should be adequate cause for continued effort by the US/British alliance forces during Ramadhan. I also have no doubt that most Afghans wish it continues and get their miserable life condition out into the past as soon as possible.

At the same time, these strike efforts should be done with high precision and accuracy and high impact. We should not tolerate haphazard operations that kill many times more of the civilians than the Talebans. In this 21st century technology, it is appropriate to expect the highest and best performance from our military forces. In my opinion, the success of precision high impact operation will have tremendous repercussions on how we will be viewed and perceived worldwide, now and in the future. I have no doubt it can be accomplished, but it takes lots of effort and mental discipline by the human personnel part of our military forces. This is not just a case of using tonnage of explosives, but also of mental facilities.
