Just a little more information on month end tax selling.
I read Cramer's article (realmoney.com). He seems to suggest that most mutual funds also have the October 31 year end, which coincides with the selling for tax reasons for this year.

His point was that investors are reluctant to put money into stocks until after the end of October because people have gotten hit with capital gains when jumping into the funds in October.

I think he has a good point and we should start heading up on the Nasdaq. Whether the funds had to sell last week for settlement today is really not important if one looks at it this way. It all has to do when the individuals want to put money into the funds and that would be November 1.

Semiconductor industry is putting out positive news, especially those connected the PC industry.
Even the contract manufacturers were positive on PCs--heard SCI paint a good picture for this sector of their business.

There is still a lot of cash on the sidelines. Sooner or later, the lower money market yields will force money into the equity funds.
Would noted that Maria mentioned that amounts held by equity funds has decreased but I would note that has also coincided with the drop in equity markets.

In addition, the incredibly strong rally in the bond market this week also will lead to asset allocation changes in favor of stocks

Looks like a perfect setup for a major stock market rally, imho.
Solving the anthrax case would also give it a huge boost.
