It's good to hear from you again!!

The Kennedy's certainly had their short-fallings but in all they have done alot of good for the country over the years.

The missile silos that were being built in Cuba would have been pointed right at the US. At that time I don't think we had the long range ICBM's so having missiles in Cuba was a huge threat. The prospects of being in close range to a nuclear bombs was scary and that's an understatement. Many American homes were built with bomb shelters in their basements.

The Kennedy's had huge balls to turn back those Russian ships that were supplying the Cubans with the technology for the silos. I was shocked that the Russians actually did turn back instead of having a naval war off our southern coast.

I was more afraid then, but I was pretty young.
