New Terror Warning.
‘Overwhelming’ Evidence of Threat.
" "The threats are credible enough that we believe that if an attack does not happen in the given time frame, then it is probably because of the enhanced law enforcement, not because an attack was not attempted or planned," the official said. "We find this threat information to be very real and very credible."

Musharraf regime could be toppled if bombing continues, says Saudi Prince

Washington, Oct 31 (UNI)

Saudi Arabia's Prince Turki-as-Sudairi has expressed apprehensions about a possible coup in Pakistan if the United States continued its bombing in Afghanistan into the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to media reports.

The Prince, Publisher of Al Riyadh newspaper and some other members of the royal family fear that the Musharraf regime could be toppled if the bombing continued during Ramzan or if the US begins targeting other nations such as Iraq, the Wall Street Journal reported.

''Ramadan is very important,'' said Prince Turki.

''Emotions will run high. There will be more support for Islamic groups. Some governments may be toppled,'' the Prince said referring to Pakistan and Indonesia. ''We worry about civil war in Pakistan. The impact will be dramatic.''

U.S. Muslim Population Reaches 7 Million
Arab-American Business, August 30, 2001

The Muslim population in the United States totals 7 million with a third regularly attending the country's more than 1,200 mosques.

A study by university scholars working with U.S. Muslim associations found that 30 percent of Muslims are converts with the average age of conversion 16 years of age.

Muslims number 2 percent of the population, roughly the same as the Jewish population. Protestants are 58 percent and Catholics 25 percent.

Around 33 percent of Muslim worshippers are born in South Asia, including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Some 30 percent are African-Americans, while 25 percent are from the Arabic-speaking world.

Study organizers excluded groups it considered marginal, such as the nation of Islam headed by Louis Farrakhan.

Ninety percent of Muslim religious leaders interviewed by the researches believe their community should be fully involved in U.S. political life.
