If the government would give a 10,000 (total) tax deduction for the next 3 years on all new cars made that used NG as a fuel instead of gasoline, maybe that would help get the gas powered auto "off the road". That would go a long ways towards reducing our use of foreign oil.

As concerns politicians, oh yes, we need a major overhaul in the financing of candidates and elections. Right now too much of our government is up for auction to the highest bidder.

As for our dependence on Gulf oil, it is really very simple. Iraq is our enemy. Iraq is almost certainly involved in this attack. Therefore, time to invade Iraq and accept Iraqi oil as reparations from the Arab-Islamic world for the damages it has now done us. It is really very simple. Whether it is done is another question.
