But that is exactly what every religion does! In otherwords the holy book of every religion passes man's subjective view of matters as absolute objective truth. You may have very well put your finger on the heart of the terrorism problems we have today! Consider Quran for example. It does have some items that are not only violent but inhuman by most 21st century civilized standards. And yet they are being viewed by a vast majority of the Islamic followers as absolute objective truth coming directly from God himself! The opinion discussed is exactly the point that what a religion teaches is totally subjective to the guy who started that religion for his own self-serving purposes. For example how do you view the following Surrah of Quran (and this is rather mild comparing to some really extreme ones) and express your subjective opinion as why Islam's holy book even discusses the notion of a man beating his wife and then considering that to be a valid thing to do![4:34] The men are made responsible for the women, ** and GOD has endowed them with certain qualities, and made them the bread earners. The righteous women will cheerfully accept this arrangement, since it is GOD's commandment, and honor their husbands during their absence. If you experience rebellion from the women, you shall first talk to them, then (you may use negative incentives like) deserting them in bed, then you may (as a last alternative) beat them. If they obey you, you are not permitted to transgress against them. GOD is Most High, Supreme. (Incidentally the above translation is obtained from the following link:submission.org When you state it interests you even less when opinions are passed off as objective Truth, then you in essence are saying that you do not believe in any ideology categorized as religion. Of course this is fine, as long as you are admitting that you do not believe in any particular religion. IGIT - as he has mentioned - does not believe in any religion but he does believe in certain beliefs. He believes in the Christianity belief , which in my view is different than Christianity "the religion". Now can we say that Muslims do also believe in the Islamic Belief , rather than Islam "the religion"? And this is what we are trying to figure out and the only thing we have going is the holy book Quran that teaches that belief. Regards,
