Addi:

If you quote something to me, if I am going to pay serious
attention to it, I need to know:

-- who wrote it?
-- what does it say that is of value to me?

Who wrote this?

Mohammed? Really? For sure?
Somebody else? When?

If it was written by an unknown person 1,000 years ago or
so, why should I pay particular attention to it unless it contains material of enduring importance.

Does it?

I would say that in my opinion this was written by SOMEBODY, a long time ago to describe behavior that might have been very appropriate in that society at that time.

But is it appropriate to current day society in this time?

Does it say anything at all of use now?

I would make the same comment about significant portions of
the Old Testament.

I do not see the quoted item as having ANYTHING to do with
Divine Wisdom, or the Voice of the Divine.

Social wisdom, maybe. But then, not now.

Namaste!

Jim
