Your interpretation of the balance sheet is simply wrong and yur reading of the DoD study is faulty. Look closely at all of the appendices, wherein the real tale lies as to which technologies performed well under what conditions. I know it's a long report, and the testing was done almost two years ago, but it still is illuminating. Both VISG and VSNX did well. VISG outperformed VSNX in the distance and speed testing that matters most in an airport corridor. On the IP question, among other things your're also missing this: "Viisage has advanced the face recognition technology initially developed by Professor Alex Pentland of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and have developed products for access control, point-of-sale, Internet access, surveillance, and real-time large database identification and verification of individuals. Viisage and Lau each license the underlying MIT technology for their respective markets through Facia Reco Associates Limited Partnership (Facia Reco), an entity formed by Dr. Pentland. While Dr. Pentland's software forms the basis of the Company's facial recognition technologies, the Company believes that its proprietary software, developed over the last six years, is integral to making these technologies more robust and commercially viable. There is quite a bit more on patents, research papers, VISG management, and the relationship with MIT I could share, but to be frank the recent tone of this board persuades me it would be a waste of bandwidth.
