Dave, even if one assumes validity in your idea of subtracting MSFT's cash from its price, a P/E of 26 is NOT "cheap for a Dow stock." Where did you get that idea? The historical average P/E is closer to 15 than to 26.

david, i am shorting, only 500 shares, because data says that pc sales will be down over the next year. sure, msft has some potential products but they are and always will be dependent on the pc. 90% of their profits come from the os and office suite. hard to make up for lower sales in this area. that is why i shorted it today.
