Are i850 and i840 based motherboards experiencing problems on the PCI bus? Yes.Like I said, some manufacturers incorrectly keyed their 3.3V AGP cards so that they could fit in a 1.5V AGP slot. They failed to follow the spec, so their cards are at fault. Didn't you say people want "reliability"? Intel is providing fingerpointing. Intel could have implemented a reliable system that handles the situation (which is not uncommon) gracefully. I would call that reliability. Self-destruction of a system is anything but reliability. If the motherboard manufacturer did not follow the spec, it was their fault. Are you sure that this is what happened? Wait, you said "Hint: one company issues a recall, while the other one says to ignore parts that cause instabilities, and posts a web page listing which parts are actually ok to use. " I responded to this flame-bait by saying that AMD actually points out potential instabilities, and steers customres in a direction where they will not encounter them. Then why are you wasting time? Do you want to get the last word? Sometimes I am get sucked into responding to flame-bait posts like the one I responed to, other times, I have more self control. Joe
