You cant go to war to get it. quite the contrary, to my thinking OIL = ECONOMY= JOBS = FOOD/SHELTER/WELFARE = LIFE in any modern society. Just think about the bitter and deadly devastation caused by catastrophic depression. We've seen it over and over again -- this is no mystery to anyone. That's why I said the other day that in some cases, the denial of oil can be considered an act of war just as many nations have done over the denial of various vital resources. Sometime you have no choice but to say these other folks want to kill you one way or another. --fl

Why not? You act as if you are so concerned about human life, when the lack of oil would mean the death of hundreds of millions. Or do you suppose there are enough draft horses left in North America to haul grain to the 20 million in the New York Metro area from even so close as Pennsylvania? Do you actually believe the North American agribusiness could even DREAM of supporting the 300 odd million in North America without the mechanization made possible by oil, let alone transport it? Do you believe the North American water and sewage systems would just magically continue working without fuel for the generators and pumps that keep us watered and not drowning in feces? Do you get the picture yet? I would rather send myself, my wife, and everyone I love to kill and be killed for oil than see countless millions die because of a political naivete. Derek
