>>I wonder how many people didn't go to work in the SF Bay area because of this warning?<<

I'm not the least intimidated by all these warnings. To prove it, I took Mrs. Peel, young Peel and his friend under one of those very bridges. Oh wait, that was before the warnings...

Here's my take on all these communications we're intercepting: it's really the drug dealers that are pretending to be the terrorists that are planting those messages so that law enforcement concentrates their efforts away from what they usually focus on. One of the by-products of all this is the Mexican border where a lot of the drugs seep through. It's dried up to a trickle and the dealers are having to resort to other methods.

A Coast Guard Lt. Com. told us that the drug dealers are taking the cruise ships down into Mexico, buying drugs there and then throwing a trash bag overboard once they're back across the border, pinpointing it with a GPS and having a recreation boat go pick it up. It makes it easier for them if the law enforcement efforts are somewhere else.

Sure. They'll get us to zig and then they'll zag. I prefer zigzag myself <g>

I figure that the U.S. doesn't think it's the bridges at all, but is merely saying that to throw off OBL.

While the OBL crew thinks all the security is at the bridges, the real security guys are hanging out at the real target.

Well, it could be true.

With all this feinting and double feinting and
misdirection going on on both sides, if the forces of
good and evil are actually in the same place at the same
time, it could get interesting.

I'd like to think our forces have the upper hand in
the strategy department. While it is imprudent to
underestimate an adversary, I find it hard to believe
that OBL is all that brilliant.

We've just been too lax in the past.

The balance of cunning just needs to be shifted.
