Well, maybe your expectations are just too low.

Would you have expected Jerry Sanders to answer honestly, er... non-deceivingly, had the situation been reversed?

Jerry could still claim "value", bang for the buck. When Intel looses performance battle, all they are left with is FUD, psychobabble (as you may witness on this board).

also, you should realize that upper management types like Paul Otellini don't sit around looking at benchmarks all day.

Is your expectation that it is ok for a guy in charge of microprocessors for the biggest microprocessor company in the world to know less about microprocessors that any teenager with Internet access? That's just fine with me. In fact, if you meet Paul in the hallway, tell him not to worry his pretty little head with too many numbers, charts graphs. <g>
