TG,

What I think I see is increased demand volume beyond what AMD can build *RIGHT NOW*. I think that 's going to mean minimal price cuts on the XP and MP lines over the course of the next two months along with a sell out and minimal channel stuffing at year end.

No way, unless AMD is experiencing a crash in yields. AMD has capacity to buils some 7+ million Athlons from Dresden and a similar number of Durons from Austin.

Recall Q4 2000. AMD had a plan and capacity to deliver 7.2 million K7 CPUs (plus some K6). It did not happen because of week demand. At the time, Dresden capacity was less than half of the full capacity.

Since Q4 2000, the shipments of CPUs increased only about 1 million, while AMD has 2 fabs doing not much of anything other than CPU work.

Jerry said they took 72% of US Portable market.

This is what Jerry said: "I pointed out that we expect to have 50% share of market in US retail mobile by the end of this year." (per JC: jc-news.com
