Bruce, The doctor told me it was RED wine, not just any wine, and other alcoholic beverages were not the culprits. But, since red wine was what I most liked, I decided to kick all of them out of my house. Beer makes me fatter and whisky tends to make me overindulge. I will drink some nice white wine once in a while, though it just doesn't have the complexity of reds.

Somebody living in Europe complaining about wines?!!! Wow. I will agree that California wines are great and unique, but Europe is loaded with terrific, but different, wines. Since you are near Italy, you have a virtual mine field of wines ready to explode in your mouth. <g> Austrian wines are mainly whites and pretty decent, but Italy is the mother lode. Not to knock France, but I prefer my wines to cost less than my cars. <g>

Enjoy and I'm jealous of your location and ability to sip the vino.

Best,

Mike Burke
