flattax.house.gov

"people making, say, $500,000 a year would pay significantly less than what they pay now. Hence, the difference would have to be made up by the middle and lower classes."

Or just have the govt. cut a lot of their spending.

You don't understand the flat tax. There is no "income tax" for anyone. NOBODY pays income tax. Not you, not Bill Gates, nobody.

That's the thing I am talking about.

You buy a house, you pay tax. You buy a luxury item you pay lots of tax. You buy food, you pay very small tax.

It could easily work if there were no slimeball corrupt politicians involved.

Flappy, a business doesn't pay taxes, it collects them and gives them to the government therefore hurting the little guy more. The only way to stop that would be to tax businesses more and put a price cap on sales.

Good morning Flap,

I see that Ish already replied to,"But there might be a way for a flat-tax system to actually work: Make sure every Big Business pays its fair share., but I could not resist.

Business does not pay taxes, it is passed on to the consumer as a cost added to all goods and services. So a corporate tax increase ultimately allows you to pay more in taxes. Who does this hurt the worse? Your favored constituency: the common working men and women.
