Raymond... I think you missed my point. If everything the US does is merely a "front" for some conspiracy (trilateralists.. militarists... etc)..., then it begs the question as to who Bin Laden's handlers are... This is why I think it's plain foolishness to claim that this US action in Afghanistan is just a scheme to gain access to Central Asian oil... It may become an end result, but it was hardly the cause... The facts are that for every conspiracy out there, one can find a "counter-conspiracy" from a group with diametrically opposed goals... So my question is which global puppeteer is pulling Bin Laden's strings? As for our attacks being a "recruiting tool", that's always going to be an excuse for not taking the offensive. I mean, what recruiting tool was the justification for those terrorists crashing into the WTC? Personally, I'm not worried about recruitment... They have entire grade schools bent upon brain-washing children into believing this fanatical form of Islam... We have Arafat and his Palestinians sacrificing children as martyrs on the West Bank... The recruitment IS ALREADY GOING ON, AT THE GRADE SCHOOL LEVEL... We just haven't acknowledged that fact. I kinda figure this is an inevitable battle that taking shape here... And a civil war between moderate and extremist Islam... a war that moderates were losing before because they were too indifferent to the possibility of seeing these extremists seize power in their own countries. So, if these extremists want to join up with the losing side like the Taliban, at least we'll know where they actually stand and that they will suffer the same fate. I have no desire to escalate this war, but it seems the other side does... So I figure those who have a bent towards being an extremist will be smoked out from cover and then we'll know who they are. And btw, anyone who has dealt with the State Deparment knows that US foreign policy is more REACTIVE, the proactive... We're constanting having to play political fire fighter, putting out flame-ups around the world.. Well, this time we're in the driving seat and other nations and groups are reacting to us the fire we're throwing their way... Hawk
