Fonda does not deserve a life in comfort and even more so to be elected to anything. She praised the North Vietnamese, posed for a photo at a Communist anti-aircraft gun emplacement, made several radio broadcasts for the Communist North Vietnamese in which she called American military leaders "war criminals," then when some of the POWs returned home and described mistreatment by the North Vietnamese, she said Americans should "...not hail the POWs as heroes, because they are hypocrites and liars." There is no dispute that her visit took place, that her words and actions were in support of the enemy, and that her conduct caused harm to the war effort and to some of the prisoners of war.truthorfiction.com ; From all I recall draft was not voluntary (did not Clinton ran away from draft? ) and any one who participated in that war served his country regardless if the Administration at the time was right or wrong. Vietnam Veterans should be treated like every other veteran of wars US participated in. If there is blame to go around than direct it to those responsible and not to those that were told to go to war. I would only comment that from my experience the majority US citizen have very little understanding of global issues and the repercussion of various military or political actions overseas ........ and that is sad. As to your other remarks about McNamara, you have the same situation today with Powell this guy has the blood of thousands US citizens on his hands not to speak about tens of thousand other people that were killed due to his misguided orders / directives and policies which encouraged terrorism and terrorist states (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Arabia etc.) now and 10 years ago and no one is accusing him. Rest my case
