It is looking more and more like Intel could finally lose its franchise as the industry moves to 64 bits.

I'm sorry, but there's hyperbole and then there's just BS, and you're crossing the line with that rant.


If Gartner and Meta think IA64 is going to be a success, and gradually eat away the RISC server market, that's about good enough for me. Gartner and Meta do not even acknowledge X86/64, or Hammer. Just agreeing with you here.
