Excuse me Tom, but isn't it sort of like being bought off, when the U.S. continues to carry on normal relations with Saudia Arabia. The regime is corrupt, by most accounts, and 18 of the 19 911 terrorists were from Saudia Arabia. Yet we keep friendly relations with that country's leaders, presumably for a steady supply of oil. I don't know, it's all clear to you, but I find it difficult to understand where that fits in with an honorable belief system. I see it as more expediency than anything else. I don't want to disparage the president, but I think it is important to consider all facets of a situation.

One last thing about being bought off... will we see serious election finance reform anytime soon in your opinion or not. If so, then you win the bought off argument, if not, then everyone's into being bought off, imo.
