Saudi Arabia only contains less than a "five year supply" of oil for the world.

That's exactly why we're at the mercy of the world powers who control oil supplies, and why we need to strongly encourage energy conservation, and why Reagan shouldn't have slashed the budget for alternative energy research by 90%, and why it was appalling to see Cheney say that we shouldn't commit to alternative energy until more research is done while Bush was recommending against seriously committing to that very research.

But that's what you get when the Oil people are in power.
