The British want to go in big. Set up a firebase in the middle of Taliban territory and saying, hey, we're here, come and get us.

Sounds kinda lobster claw talk to me.

(i.e. from the British army red coat era, the British Army has moved on from that time. Problems with the US colonies enforced some rethinking on that subject -g-)

A very specific base would be required. One with lots of clear space around it imho. It would also invite every loonie around worldwide to get in on the action.

In the mean time there are 6 million Afghans lined up to starve in the process.

Would that be a winning solution?
