Brightness, shorting takes discipline. If you are under a squeeze, it is often better to vent than to be forced to cover by a MM who is waiting to take your money before he takes the market down.

If some are feeling the pain, just understand that they are holding to their discipline and could likely profit more in the end than if they had covered and re-shorted several times.

I simply can not understand why any rational posters would publicize their out-of-money shorts every five minutes just to show how desperately under squeeze they are.

It is a great way to let off some steam. However, there's no way posters here affect the market. We are all just spit in the ocean. If a poster could affect the market, it would be someone like Zeev, who has proven time and again uncanny accuracy. He has said several times he doesn't think he has any effect whatsoever.
