I disagree vehemently with Kissinger taking out Allende by force, rather than at the voting booth, and that does not make me "Anti-American". I disagree vehemently with Arafat insisting on that stupid "right of return", and foiling the peace effort, and even more with his incitements to violence, but that does not make me "Anti-Palestinian". I am not anti anything, including bulls and bears. You must accept a world of "Pluralities" in which differing opinions can be aired, without being labelled as "Fascist" or Communist" or anti that and anti that. And once aired, these opinions can be countered, with facts, ideas, ideologies, principles, truths, presumptions, assumptions, theories or whatever, but without having to resort to attacks on the persons that air differing views. When Steve lacked some sensitivity to the pains we felt in this country after 9/11, I told him on the spot that I felt he lacked sensitivity. Period, that does not means his opinions are right or wrong, it only means his opinions are different. As a Jew, it is particularly important to me that the right to be "different" be holy and unabridgeable, that includes the right of others to tell me, a strong supporter of the State of Israel, for instance, that it is wrong for Israeli soldiers to "shoot children". I would simply respond that like the Taliban, the Palestinian leadership is coward, and they both hide behind children and women, and send children to do grown ups dirty work, and they both target for their own terrorists action innocent civilians.
