Hi tyke,

Re: You say Weyerhauser is one of them with a foot in both camps.

Nope, I believe it was marcos discussing this multinational. I hate to re-direct you, but I don't have a dog in this race. I'm more of a tariff wonk than a speculator in a pretty quiet industry like forestry/lumber products.

'Who stands to gain most from support by the state ?'

At this point, clearly those who have the US Kommerzwaffe in their pocket. It's just the strongest and largest state influence at this point, by far. However, legend has it that the nation to which that department pertains is operated according to principles that are from time to time applied to real-life situations. We're holding our breath on that at the moment

'which company would you rather invest in'

It's not about that ... i hold no shares in any forest company, spent too much time around the industry to ever see it as an attractive speculation over any length of time ... used to play mb.to long before wy.nyse took it over, but only on a cyclical basis, never buy and hold ... the long term trend on it was down, its return on invested capital was dismal in the years after its great scoop of cheapo resources in the first half of the last century ... but who cares, it's not about that

It's about whether entire communities here in BC live or die, about whether or not a lobby of sleazeball US lawyers can block the only products their land produces.

It's about corruption in Washington DC, Yewnited Stunts of a Murrika

That's what it's about.
