AMD folks, I'm outta here.

The value of these threads is that information, opinions and perspective are always filtered through the opinions of other posters. By eliminating very informed people (filters), you allow false statements, unreliable opinions and wacky perspectives to go unchallenged. The value of the thread as a tool to form an accurate opinion is greatly diminished.

Some other Intel folks have already left, I suspect other won't post as often, or at all. You have built yourselves a closed clubhouse where one perspective will dominate, and the chances of coming to an incorrect conclusion are greatly amplified. So this thread loses value, in fact can become very misleading.

As of this weekend, the AMD thread is unbookmarked, at least for me. If I want to hear a bunch of guys cheer for the home team, I can go to a football game.

Mani- I consider the term "maniban" extremely offensive. I'm glad you made your feelings known. I think people will respect this and, who knows, you may even get an apology from Elmer and windsock.

Thank you for taking on the thankless job of thread moderator.

You have every right to voice your disapproval of how I handle moderating this thread. But you should do this without calling me a name after the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

Mani a reasonable post such as your's deserves a reasonable reply. I'm sorry you find the term Maniban a personal slur. I know you probable don't read all the posts and perhaps you missed the one where I said "Maniban" does not so much refer to you but the padlocked steel shuttered minds of many on this thread. Like it or not, your name is Mani and it was a ban so Mani-ban does not seem unreasonable to describe the control of thought, which is what I think is happening here. I must admit that you have bent over backwards to be fair within the rules and my dispute is not really with the way you administer the rules but the rules themselves.

I know Paul can he hard to take. No need to argue that one. I also know that many have made the point that it was not his viewpoint that got him banned but his behavior therefore thought control is not a fair description of what happened. This argument fails to stand up when you consider that the ignore feature would have completely solved the problem yet most refused to exercise it. It is clear to me that the only difference between ignoring Paul and banning Paul is to prevent others from reading his posts as well as yourselves. This is thought control by definition and it is not just a coincidence that the term Mani-ban so closely resembles the term you find so objectionable. In deference I will not use that term again when referring to you.
