The dangers that you describe are those that arise from the activities of normal daily life - Westerner are not accustom to mass death caused by suicide missions such as the WTC on September eleventh.

People are dying all the time.

My education from a very early age was that death could be very close at any time for millions and millions of people. Our 20th century history had large proportions of our (UK) population wiped out through war.

Thats how I felt anyway. Read the write up. It's worth it.
