In Orlando for the weekend..pleasure and business..
business down significantly at all theme parks..Been at the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdomn and Epcot..
Attractions that used to have 2 hour waits have 30 minutes, most ahve less than a 5 minute wait..
Todays cover of the Orlando Sentinel says Orlando which is one of the best economies in the USA will reel in 2002.
and Orlando is the epicenter of the fallout from September 11..
Hank Fishkind (Local economist) says it was like you were traveling 70 M.P.H. and all of sudden you slowed down to 30 m.p.h.
Hotels rate cut significantly in order to attract visitors..
We are staying in a hotel that generally is $270 a night its now $99 per night.
In Celebration many empty stores as opposed to a waiting list last year at this time..
Opryland Hotel and resort had a job fair for 1500 employees to be hired 15,000 showed up...
