Time: I am reading with interest regarding DIS. I decided several weeks ago that I would open another account and use it to buy Jan 03 & 04 leaps only. This is somewhat out of character as I usually swing trade from 2 days to 2-3 weeks.
My criteria is buying large caps currently out of favor that have not popped with the market over the last month. I'm building the leap "portfolio" just like it was my father's Oldsmobile. Diversified, well respected (maybe not right now), etc. I am looking for OTM leaps with cheap premiums and choosing a strike price that is about 15-20% under the 200 DMA. Buying 5-10 contracts for each security.
So far, I have bought GLW, BA and DIS. My goal is a collection of 8-12 calls. I hope to fill out the rest of the "portfolio" during dips or warnings in the next two months.
This represents only about 2% of my available capital, so loosing it all would piss me off, but not hurt me LT.
Any other suggestions?
