Hi Hawkmoon,

Re: But what happens if we see a more moderate Iran emerge (they recently pulled their "revolutionary guard" advisers out of Lebanon)?

Iran's got plenty of oil. We'll be pals.

Re: What if Iran finds itself more allied with the US against some of the unstable Arab states?

It'll make Iran-Contra look like a tiny first step in our ongoing efforts to step up international trade. Oil for arms. Just like with Saudi Arabia.

Re: What if the US wishes to use a potential reapproachment with Iran to hedge its political bets in the region?

I'm sure we do. Meddling is in our blood.

Re: But more importantly, what if we discover irrefutable proof that Saddam was involved in plotting the WTC attacks?

It will be difficult for Bush NOT to move against him if this kind of evidence presents itself.

That's a stretch, IMO, we will never see irrefutable proof. The public still hasn't been given clear and convincing proof or a preponderance of evidence that we're in Afghanistan to hunt down the group responsible for 9/11. Everyone has simply made an assumption about the proof there, sort of a faith-based assessment. Much like that at the Salem witch hunt recently in the news.

Re: Btw, they're showing the UNEDITED version of "Saving Private Ryan" on ABC, four letter words and all...

That's good, now if we could just get that un-commercialed.... <g> Perhaps an early sign of Hollywood helping the propaganda effort. There's been several meetings between Hollywood and Bush's "message" team recently. I think we can expect a lot more war films in the next year. And fewer focusing on tall buildings burning.
