With regards to the SCI publications, since those well known publications were not cited against Rambus to invalidate their patent(s), most likely the Rambus patented a different means....

The point you are missing again is that the patented original idea did not work.

Patents are granted for novel, or non-obvious, products or processes. Consideration is not given to a patent with regards to commercial applicablity (except for the cases of Cold Fusion, perpetual motion machines, and a product/process that creates energy)

Note: by creating energy, I mean Ein <<< Eout...

Ali, we do agree with regards to the "crux" of the case, i.e. the definition of bus. Still, I believe that the decision will not effect Rambus alone, but any company who will attempt to assert their IP in court.
