Good point about the international flights. I wonder about the passenger lists.

NTSB reports vis-a-vis Egypt Air 990 "Passengers were from Canada, Egypt, Germany, Sudan, Syria, United States, and Zimbabwe."

Hi Mrs. Peel,

My deepest sympathies to the family, friends and acquaintances of the plane crash victims this morning.

I think we should all remain calm and don't rush to any premature judgements right now. The most common cause of airplane crashes are still mechanical failures and pilot error. American Airlines also has a very poor history of maintaining their airplanes and is the leader of FAA fines and violations.

Yes, terrorism can still remain as a root cause given the recent circumstances. But American Airlines' safety record is pretty difficult to ignore.

I've located the passenger list for Swissair flight 111 - one Saudi, one Moroccan, two Iranians, one Afghani, one Egyptian, and, FWIW, one Israeli and one Chinese.

tv.cbc.ca

Also the passenger list for TWA flight 800 - nothing that jumps out - maybe Mohammed Ferrat, a guy from the Ivory Coast, maybe Dr. and Mrs. Ghassan Haurani, a couple with a name that looks Iranian to me but they lived in Grosse Pointe, and maybe Avishaim Meshulam, a guy without a nationality but his name looks Israeli, maybe. Or maybe if there was a bomb it wasn't carried on by a passenger.

Or maybe it's all coincidence.
