From Foreign Affairs thread an update on crash Investigators find crashed jet's black box Investigators have found the black box from the plane that crashed in New York. The chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board says all the current information suggests it was an accident. Marion Blakey also said the American Airlines jet was only in the air for three minutes after taking off from JFK airport. Speaking outside the board's Washington DC headquarters, she said between 60 and 100 investigators are travelling to the scene in the Queens area of the city. Coastguards have reported seeing engine debris in Jamaica Bay, she added. Meanwhile, the small number of people admitted to New York hospitals after the Queens plane crash has been described as "bad news". Ole Paderson of Jamaica Hospital in Queens says it has only treated people for minor injuries and smoke inhalation. Mr Paderson says this could be bad news as it may indicate few people survived the crash. He says Jamaica Hospital was also on stand-by after the September 11 attacks. He says the lack of casualties then was due to a lack of survivors. ananova.com
