One translation of definition of God from Qu'ran..

[al-Ikhlas 112:1] Say: He is God, the One and Only;
[al-Ikhlas 112:2] God, the Eternal, Absolute;
[al-Ikhlas 112:3] He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
[al-Ikhlas 112:4] And there is none like unto Him.

So, Zeev, can God create a rock so heavy that He cannot lift it?

Why, sure He could. . . then, He would lift it!

You are right Zeev, faith does not require proof or evidence... having said this, the Qur'an challenges our minds by what can be considered as evidence that it is God's word...

for example, the Qur'an challenged the Arabs to create something similar to it for they were the masters of the Arabic language...
