You would think the pilots would've notified the tower if they had decided to dump fuel and take other final actions. I think the information is suspect whether he actually did jettison fuel versus it having dumped involuntarily out of the wing that came off.

Interesting, but I would think if a missile had been fired in the daytime at least some of the witnesses would have reported seeing its trail. But that guy makes a good point about the hole. I wonder if a "mechanic" may have placed a charge there, on the inside of the engine, triggered by a timer, or altitude, or a number of other things.

jpgill, I am no expert, but common sense tells me that some thing is fishy in the whole affair. Many years ago an El-Al cargo plane slammed into a residential building in Holland after take off and one of the engines detached itself from the wing, due to bolt rapture. The plane remained intact it did not disintegrate like this plane. Those are my two cents. As to the possibility that our Administration will tell us the truth --- do not hold your breath ---- just imagine if the fellow who posted in your link is right ? -------- major embarrassment to the Administration and a disaster to the airline industry world over, stock market down 10% and another coup to the terrorist. So why not conveniently just muddle the facts and lie? Is that not the expertise of politicians --- and what they do for a living ? As long as this Administration will be hostage to Arab totalitarian regimes and appease them, acts of terrorism will be with us and more innocent victims will pay the price. BWDIK Haim
