Shots fired at Jerusalem bus; Islamic Jihad activist arrested

Shots were fired Monday night 10:00 PM at a bus making its way to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, while it was near the Lion's Gate. This was the first time a bus inside Jerusalem was fired at. The shots were probably fired from the nearby A-Tur neighborhood in East Jerusalem, about 300 meters away from the road the bus was travelling on. Five bullets hit the bus, but there were no injuries.

Jerusalem District Police Commander Mickey Levy estimated that the shots were fired from a distance. He added that the police ballistic laboratory would determine whether the bullets were fired by a cell that had operated in the past in East Jerusalem.
