Wait 'till you find out who the Northern Alliance is. Once they help us kick the Taleban...well, life goes on.

Anyway, you asked about Jihad a couple of weeks ago and I thought I would add some more (of my)perspective.

The short story is simply that jihad is a way of life...struggling for the good and standing against injustice.

So, we have this "religious" war goin' on now right?....?

A fundamental and oft refered to principle in Islam is that God has no partners and needs nothing from his creation...comes with being the "All Powerful."

OK then, lets lay some logic on this thing. The only way there can be a "religious" war is if God's religion needs to be fought for??? Since religion is founded on belief and free will to choose, who do we fight?

Here is an analogy that I have used before. If my daughter were in an inner office room of a tall building quietly reading a book unaware of a fire that had broken out, I would want to go in and tell her to leave, or call her if there was a phone in the room. If someone were guarding the door, or telephone, because they wanted her to burn, I would fight the person so that I could notify her.

It is possible for a religious person to use this kind of rationale to fight a tyrant who is denying someone information that they need to avoid hell's fire. It makes no sense for believers to have a war on "religion." Since the only objective of such a war would be to free people from the tyranny of not being allowed to exercize their free will to believe or disbelieve.

This is no more of a religious war than any other war has been. It is a war about realestate, social dominances, and egos; as always.

However, you take a group of a billion people who identify with one another and in which 97% are uneducated or apathetic and yell something like: "hey kids we're having a beach party"...and what happens...the 1950's turns into the 1960's....or in this decade you can yell, "hey guys we're a fight'n fer God.".....

Think it'll get any better in the 20's?

Have Peace
