The Northern Alliance is no real improvement.

All that noise about women taking off their burkas as Taliban fled must have been orchestrated by an unemployed choreographist from New York?

Has all reality become theatrical?

<< u.s. doesn't emphasize bad deeds of northern alliance. >>

The complexities of the Northern Alliance have been extensively covered on the news. I wonder how civilized, anyone would act, when faced with years of war, depravation and cruelty.

<< as asked before by me, why did afghans allow taliban to come to power and stay in power ... >>

It is difficult to deny power to those that hold the guns. History also shows that most people are passive, until forced into confrontation.

<< ... and not support u.s. efforts to kick them out- especially to kick out bin Laden and foreigners >>

In ruthless dictatorships, the people have little say. Now that the Afghanistan people see that liberation is coming, they are rising up against the Taliban. Unfortunately, the Taliban are leaving a trail of blood and carnage behind them as the flee. Like the Nazis did in World War II, they want to leave no witnesses to their atrocities and looting.
