Thank goodness the double post bug is still here.

Gee, I seem to remember you extolling the wonderful social programs and socialized medicine of the European countries not so long ago. You were popping out stats right and left on how great they were.

I think what I've tried to say is that there are a number of countries that have a much better record on such things as infant mortality rates and life expectancy. Those characteristics are significant in assessing health care systems. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't look at the health care delivery systems that they have and see if there is anything that we can steal from them that would improve our health care system. Most of the countries on the list have a combination of public and private health care. As does the US. Medicare and Medicaid are socialized medicine if you will. I sincerely doubt that those systems will be abolished because they are "socialized" medicine.

BTW. The Brits happen to have a far simpler tax system than the US does. I don't see any reason why that shouldn't be looked at. One doesn't have to copy the specific tax rate[s]. The Brits are also trying to work through a pay/performance system in education...seems reasonable to me to look at what problems they are encountering as they work through it.

SO: Was the the Republican or Libertarian Parties you've now joined?

Actually, I've never been a groupie kind of a person. I've got too many bizarre ideas; no one wants me <sob>. For example, corporate taxes should be zero; no deductions for dependents. No tax credits for foreign investments [i.e., foreign tax paid].....
