This could really be the start of a friendship between our two nations. Putin still has a problem, back home, from all the "old world" chronies, and the enormous amount of corruption in the Russian government and system, but this is a good start. Both Clinton and Yeltsin were insincere, bungling clowns upon the world stage. Their friendship was worthless because both Presidents lacked the authority or ability to make strong ties between America and Russia. Putin could be the catalyst towards a long term program of reform in Russia, and move the world closer to world peace. Like you say, Yeehah! This is exciting!
