If you're impressed with Jerry Sanders, you'll love Stanford Ovshinsky, proponent of "ovonics". He's been trying to find an application for amorphous semiconductors for most of our lifetimes. One time it was for batteries, then it was for memories

So maybe it's possible this technology has experienced a breakthrough? I remember the big splash Ovshinsky's company made in the 70's and its stock going to 60 something in no time. It didn't pan out then but maybe they've got something now. You don't want me to ask what your opinion would be if AMD was sidling up to them instead, would you?
