I have never expected a lot of conventional forces. I think some may be used for mopping up, but this has been an air war/special ops/indigenous forces operation all along, and will continue to be mainly that. The Iraqis were better equipped and better trained, and we rolled over them, with the exception of the small, elite cadres, who nevertheless retreated and were being bombed into oblivion when we let up. Why anyone in his right mind would expect us to get bogged down in taking out the Taliban, I do not know.......

Not only are Kandahar and Jalabad falling but it is not being done by the Northern Alliance. A further failure of prognostication by the running shadow.
