Bill, Looks like AMD is getting ready to pull the plug on their
internal Fab capability. The "financials" of a 300mm Fab are
starting to "show" -->

AMD , Taiwan's UMC plan chip plant-newspaper

"But it said AMD plans to outsource production of its high-end processor
Athlon and Athlon XP to UMC, the world's second largest contract chipmaker,
and plans to book capacity of a fab from UMC."


These "model-hurtz" parts are causing some "financial-hurtz" at
AMD. <ggg>
